On June 12, in the first post-COVID boxing event in Europe, Ewa Piatkowska (13-1, 4 KOs) will battle glorified trial horse Karina Kopinska (13-32-4, 3 KOs) in a scheduled six-round bout in Poland. Piatkowska, a former WBC super-welterweight champion, was stripped of the title in 2019, and it was subsequently secured by Claressa Shields in January 2020. The former champion intends to campaign as a super-lightweight and has been engaging in a back-and-forth with Ewa Brodnicka, the current WBO World female super-featherweight champion. Piatkowska dropped an eight-round, split-decision to Brodnicka in 2015.
