Naoko Fujioka, 112, rallied late to retain her WBA World female flyweight title for the second time with a ten-round, split-draw (96-95/94-96/95-95) against Tenkai Tsunami, 111 ¾, who was looking to win a world title in a fourth weight division. Fujioka, 43, who boasts world titles in five weight classes, had difficulties in the early rounds with the 34-year-old Tsunami’s speed and movement, but found her rhythm over the second half of the fight to earn the split-draw. Fujioka witnesses her record move to (18-2-1, 7 KOs) and Tsunami now stands at (26-12-1, 15 KOs). Both fighters reside and fight out of Tokyo, Japan.
